Why a diesel oil change costs more than a car's
The size is the main reason. A heavy-duty diesel commonly holds 10 to 15 gallons of oil, where a car holds about a gallon. Add one or more large oil filters, diesel-rated oil, the labor to do it right, and the cost of disposing of the old oil, and you are working at a different scale than a quick-lube. That is normal, not a markup.
What changes your price
